Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling Discuss Barbie and Ken as They Grace the Pink Carpet at London Premiere

Margot Robbie, who has been rocking retro looks throughout the “Barbie” press tour, showed up to the London premiere on Wednesday wearing a couture ensemble that was modelled after the 1960s Mattel doll “Enchanted Evening.”

Robbie, who plays the legendary doll, wore a Vivienne Westwood dress with a stiff corset, draped pink satin, and a soft white stole. A single pink rosette adorned her hip, which had a gathered waist.

Robbie accessorised with an Assael pearl necklace, Degramule Strass shoes by Christian Louboutin, and opera gloves to complete her regal look. All of the actress’ ensembles for her “Barbie” promotional tour were fashioned by Andrew Mukamal.

Robbie has made references to the legendary doll in a number of other recent fashion statements. She wore a shimmering strapless haute couture outfit by Schiaparelli on Sunday to the “Barbie” premiere in Los Angeles, which was inspired by the 1960s limited-edition Solo in the Spotlight Mattel doll.Margot Robbie

She channelled Mattel’s 1992 doll “Totally Hair” Barbie at the movie’s photocall in Mexico City earlier in July. She was dressed in a colourful mosaic-like Emilio Pucci minidress.

The movie “Barbie” follows Mattel’s well-known doll as she travels from Barbieland to the real world.

Among the ensemble cast of the movie, which opens in theatres on July 21, are Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Hari Nef, Simu Liu, and Ncuti Gatwa. The soundtrack for the film is equally impressive, containing songs from Charli XCX, Tame Impala, Ice Spice, Lizzo, and Haim.

“Barbie” was co-written by Gerwig and her longterm partner Noah Baumbach. In the past, the duo worked together on the script for their 2012 dramedy “Frances Ha.”
